Sep 29: This festive week brings a diverse mix of films to the big screen across Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Japanese and international cinema. The line-up spans returning franchises, regional stories, animation, fantasy, thrillers, drama and romance, offering audiences a variety of choices across languages and genres.

Drishyam: The Conclusion

The Malayalam original of the Drishyam franchise, Drishyam 3 brings back Mohanlal as Georgekutty, with Meena as Rani and Asha Sharath as Geetha Prabhakar.
Set four and a half years after the events of the previous film, the story follows Georgekutty as he attempts to rebuild a sense of normalcy for his family while dealing with the lingering psychological impact of the past. He is also focused on finding a suitable marriage proposal for his elder daughter, Anju.
Directed and written by Jeethu Joseph, the crime thriller follows Georgekutty as his carefully maintained life begins to unravel when his former adversaries seek to reopen the case surrounding his family. As a new trap takes shape involving Anju, a staged death and forged psychiatric documentation, Georgekutty is once again forced to use his resourcefulness to protect his family.
Baththa

Baththa marks the third collaboration between actor Vijay Sethupathi and director Balaji Tharaneetharan. Set in 1986 Madras, the action drama stars Vijay Sethupathi in the titular role alongside Lijomol Jose as his wife.
Baththa is known as a formidable man whose reputation is built around exaggerated local legends of his strength and fearlessness. While outsiders see him as a feared figure and rough village hooligan, he leads a very different life at home as a devoted husband and father.
His life takes an unexpected turn when an eight-year-old boy accidentally locks him inside a school restroom, leading to an unlikely bond between the two. As their relationship develops, a series of events puts Baththa’s connection with his family at risk.
Don’t Trouble The Trouble

Presented by S. S. Rajamouli and from the makers of Baahubali, Don’t Trouble the Trouble follows Suri, a magician whose spell accidentally causes a young girl to disappear.
What initially appears to be a magical mishap takes an unexpected turn when Suri discovers that the girl is actually a genie capable of granting wishes. As the genie explores the city and begins unleashing her powers when angered, Suri finds himself caught in a series of magical situations.
Directed by Shashank Yeleti, the film stars Fahadh Faasil, Saurabh Sachdeva and Ssara Palekar and combines action, comedy, drama and fantasy.
