Among its original productions, Nithari: Truth, Lies & Murder was recognised as the winner in the Best Documentary Series category. The three part series marked the first time Moninder Singh Pandher appeared on camera to share his version of events. Coming shortly after the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Surinder Koli’s final conviction, the documentary was both historic and a first of its kind in the genre. The honours continued with Discovery’s South Asia’s edition of the international adventure survival franchise, Naked and Afraid: Aadimanav, which won the Best Infotainment Programme and Best Non-Scripted Entertainment awards. The series brought together six participants from diverse backgrounds and immersed them in the challenging wilderness of Palawan in the Philippines, where they faced harsh conditions, navigated unfamiliar terrain and adapted to an environment where every decision mattered.
Discovery’s highly acclaimed titles were also recognised across categories, reflecting the breadth of stories and perspectives brought to audiences through these partnerships. You Know Who, an extension of the Embers of Hope documentary series won in the Best Animation category. Across its five episodes, the animated capsule lets animal kingdom take centre stage, offering witty observations and biting commentary on the destruction of the planet at the hands of human beings. Celebrating one of Maharashtra’s most enduring spiritual traditions, Pandharpur Wari: In the Footsteps of the Saints won Best Branded Programme award. The documentary followed the 250-kilometre pilgrimage undertaken by Warkaris over 21 days, capturing both their devotion to Lord Vitthal and the extraordinary community effort that sustains the centuries-old journey.
The recognition also extended to stories that took audiences across global destinations and India’s natural landscapes. World on My Plate with Shipra Khana won Best Lifestyle Programme. Hosted and curated by celebrated chef and television personality Shipra Khanna, the three-episode series brought together food, travel and culture as she explored the stories, traditions and human connections behind every dish. Meanwhile, Into the Green: Discovering Jharkhand won Best Short Form for its exploration of the state’s forests, waterfalls, wildlife habitats and emerging ecotourism landscape, while also bringing viewers closer to the local communities shaping this journey.
The national-winning entries will now compete at the Asia Pacific Grand Awards finale, taking place in Singapore on 2nd and 3rd December, 2026.
