Mumbai, Nov 28: 17 years after the tragic 26/11 attacks, iconic locations such as CST, Leopold Café, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, and Trident Hotel still bear the memory of that fateful night. While the city’s heartbeat slowed, the courage and resilience of the security forces brought hope amid despair. To honor the brave martyrs, the Maharashtra Police Boys Association, in collaboration with the Police Boys Charitable Trust, organized a commemorative event at the Gateway of India. Families of the fallen heroes, police personnel, and hundreds of college students gathered to remember the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of those who protected the city.

The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Dr. Bu Abdullah, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, and Chairman of the Bu Abdullah Group of Companies; DCP Pravin Mundhe; singer Siddharth Koli; and Rahul Arjunrao Dubale, Founder and President of the Maharashtra Police Boys Association. Together, they paid homage to the martyrs.

Rahul Arjunrao Dubale said,

“The terrorists tried to shake Mumbai with their brutal attacks, but they could never break the soul of this city. Today, we bow our heads to the brave men who gave their lives to shield us. Our association has consistently honored both police officers and citizens who displayed extraordinary courage on 26/11. This year, our tributes will resonate across 33 districts, culminating in a torch rally at the Gateway of India to remind everyone of the daily sacrifices of our force. We are also grateful to Dr. Bu Abdullah for his generous donation of an ambulance, which will save lives and serve the city.”

Dr. Bu Abdullah expressed his condolences and support:

“I remember and pray for every innocent life lost on that tragic day, and my heart goes out to their families. I offer my deepest gratitude to the Maharashtra Police for their courage and sacrifice. I am proud to donate a well-equipped ambulance to the Maharashtra Police Boys Association, strengthening emergency care for Mumbai. Through this gesture, we honor the legacy of the martyrs by helping save lives and supporting the city they protected.”

On the 17th anniversary of 26/11, Mumbai once again bowed its head in remembrance, paying tribute to the heroes whose sacrifice continues to inspire generations.
