Commercial LPG Prices Slashed by Over INR 200, Bringing Major Relief to Businesses

NewsBhumika Lenka01 Aug 2026

New Delhi, Aug 1: Commercial establishments across India are set to benefit from lower fuel costs as state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) announced a reduction of more than ₹200 in the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders from August 1.

The latest price revision brings relief to businesses that depend on LPG for daily operations, including restaurants, hotels, catering companies, food outlets, and small commercial kitchens. The reduction is expected to help ease operating expenses and provide support to businesses managing rising input costs.

Under the new pricing structure, commercial LPG cylinder prices have been reduced by ₹202 in Delhi and ₹209 in Kolkata. The revised price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Kolkata now stands at ₹2,872.50.

The price cut is applicable only to commercial consumers, while the rates of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders used by households remain unchanged.

The latest reduction marks a continued easing trend in commercial LPG prices after earlier revisions in recent months. The move comes amid improved stability in global energy markets, better supply conditions, and a moderation in fuel price pressures.

Industry stakeholders believe the reduction will provide meaningful support to businesses, particularly the hospitality and food service sectors, where LPG forms a significant part of daily operational costs. Lower fuel expenses could help businesses improve cost management, protect margins, and maintain competitive pricing.

The government and oil marketing companies continue to focus on ensuring reliable LPG availability and efficient distribution across consumer segments. Stable supplies and improved market conditions have allowed commercial users to benefit from recent price adjustments while maintaining adequate support for household consumers.

The latest LPG price reduction reflects improving conditions in the energy sector and provides timely relief to India's business community. As global fuel markets continue to evolve, future price movements will depend on international energy trends and domestic supply-demand conditions.
