New Delhi/Bengaluru, May 26: In a significant step towards advancing interdisciplinary learning and strengthening the application of Behavioural Sciences for social impact, the Cheistha Kochhar Foundation and Christ (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on academic, research and outreach initiatives in the field of Behavioural Sciences and Nudge Practice.

The collaboration aims to promote meaningful engagement in behavioural insights, human-centred design and evidence-based interventions that can contribute towards addressing societal and developmental challenges. Through this partnership, the two institutions seek to create a strong platform for dialogue, learning and innovation in the emerging domain of Behavioural Sciences.

As part of the collaboration, the organizations will jointly launch the Cheistha Kochhar Nudge Lecture Series, envisioned as a distinguished platform bringing together academicians, researchers, practitioners, policymakers and students to deliberate on contemporary issues relating to nudge theory, behavioural science, public policy and social transformation.

Speaking on the occasion, Lt. Gen. Dr. S.P. Kochhar remarked:

“I am happy about this collaboration. Christ University is a leading institution not only in the country but also enjoys global recognition. This partnership is a fitting tribute to Cheistha, whose work integrated Nudge Practice and Behavioural Sciences with empathy, rigour and a deep commitment to creating meaningful social impact. Through this collaboration, we hope to carry forward her vision by encouraging dialogue, research and practical applications of behavioural insights that can help address real-world societal challenges.”

Dr Santhosh K R, Lead, Behavioural Decision Lab, School of Psychological Sciences, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), said:

“This collaboration reflects our shared vision of bringing behavioural science closer to public policy and social transformation. Through the lecture series, student projects, and interdisciplinary engagement, we hope to create a platform where behavioural insights can move beyond theory and contribute meaningfully to real-world societal challenges. We are excited about encouraging students and young researchers to develop evidence-based solutions with practical community impact.”

The MoU is expected to pave the way for several collaborative initiatives including lectures, workshops, research programmes, student engagement activities and knowledge-sharing forums focused on Behavioural Sciences and behavioural design interventions.
