Sep 16: Soy Soi is set to transport diners into the world of imperial China with ‘A Chinese Emperor’s Table’, a specially curated food festival inspired by the grandeur, ceremony and culinary abundance of royal banquets served in the courts of medieval China.
Among the highlights are signature creations such as Yu Wan Jiebai Tang , Lung Xu Ji, Ranshao Yang Rou and Chengbao Lu Buo, alongside an extensive selection of dishes curated for the festival.
The culinary experience takes inspiration from the diverse traditions associated with imperial China, bringing together influences from the Manchu, Han, Shandong and Jiangnan culinary traditions. Historically, imperial feasts were celebrated for their variety, elaborate presentation and ceremonial approach to dining, with dishes reflecting the richness of both northern and southern Chinese cuisines.
‘A Chinese Emperor’s Table’ is designed to offer more than a meal. It is an immersive culinary celebration where history, theatre, hospitality and flavour come together, recreating the spirit of an imperial banquet while presenting it through a contemporary dining experience at Soy Soi.
The festival promises diners an opportunity to experience the richness of Chinese culinary heritage through an indulgent journey inspired by the tables of emperors and the traditions of royal kitchens at Kotturpuram, Chennai.
