Plugzmart signs MoU with Tamil Nadu Govt to scale EV Charger manufacturing, to create over 500 Deep-Tech jobs

Chennai, Aug 13: Plugzmart, a Tamil Nadu-based EV charging technology company incubated at IIT Madras Research Park, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Tamil Nadu during the ‘Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026’, held in Chennai in the presence of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay, to invest INR100 Crore to expand its manufacturing footprint, R&D capabilities, and charging infrastructure ecosystem.

The strategic investment is projected to generate over 500 direct, high-skilled jobs in hardware engineering, power electronics, embedded software, and advanced manufacturing across Tamil Nadu over the next three years.

As a full-stack EV infrastructure builder, Plugzmart designs and manufactures indigenously engineered AC and DC fast chargers, ARAI-compliant charger controllers, Power Line Communication  modules and cloud-native Charger Management Systems. The fresh capital deployment will significantly scale production capacities at a manufacturing plant located in the industrial hub of Oragadam, Vallam.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vivek Samynathan, Co-Founder & CEO, Plugzmart, said,
