1. Guidance cut points to a weaker-than-expected H2, with organic growth emerging as the key concern.

Infosys lowered its FY27 revenue growth guidance to 1%-2% from 1.5%-3.0%, a sharper cut than what was anticipated. Assuming acquisition contribution remains at around 170bps, the revised guidance implies an organic growth midpoint of around -0.2% versus 0.5-0.6% earlier. While Q2 performance was broadly in line with expectations, the guidance cut reflects weaker H2 visibility, continued pricing pressure and cautious client spending.

2. Strong deal wins and AI traction are encouraging, but revenue growth remains subdued.

Infosys reported large deal TCV of US$5.2bn, with 62% being net new, while AI-related revenue grew 29% QoQ and contributed 10.5% of total revenue. However, these positives have yet to translate into meaningful revenue acceleration. Intense pricing pressure and rising client expectations around productivity gains remain key challenges, raising concerns that AI-led efficiencies could also weigh on traditional revenue growth.

3. A sustained failure to deliver organic growth could put pressure on valuations.

Although operating margin remained stable at 21%, the weaker growth outlook is likely to remain the key focus for investors. If Infosys continues to rely on acquisitions to support reported growth without a meaningful recovery in its underlying business, the market could begin to assign it a lower valuation multiple. A de-rating similar in direction to Wipro cannot be ruled out, although the extent may be less severe given Infosys’ stronger deal momentum. A recovery in organic growth will therefore be critical; continued weakness could further weigh on investor sentiment and valuations.
