House of Lakshyam Brings Traditional Iyer-Style Sambar to Home Kitchens with Its New Spice Blend

Bengaluru,  29 October 2026: House of Lakshyam, a homegrown food brand focused on traditional South Indian cuisine, has launched its Iyer Style Sambar Powder, inspired by a traditional Iyer-style recipe. The new addition brings the familiar aroma and comfort of home-cooked South Indian sambar to modern households, expanding the brand’s range beyond Idli Molaga Podi.

Inspired by the flavours of traditional Iyer-style cooking, the blend combines red chillies, coriander seeds, black pepper, cumin, mustard seeds, asafoetida, fenugreek, toor dal, chana dal and turmeric. It is intended for households seeking the warmth and flavour of home-style sambar in a prepared spice blend that fits into everyday cooking.

The launch builds on House of Lakshyam’s focus on familiar South Indian recipes, bringing a cooking staple into a portfolio that began with Idli Molaga Podi. With the addition, the brand aims to make regional food traditions easier to carry into daily meals.

Commenting on the launch, Sowmya Iyer, Founder of House of Lakshyam, said: “For us, sambar is closely tied to the flavours and aromas of home. We wanted our Iyer Style Sambar Powder to bring that familiarity to everyday cooking, including in households where there may be less time to prepare a spice blend from scratch. Building on our Idli Molaga Podi, this launch reflects the kind of range we want to create, with products rooted in the food we grew up with.”

The Iyer Style Sambar Powder is available on Amazon and Flipkart in 200 g and 500 g packs, with offers valid until December 2026. It will also be available through the brand’s website soon.
