Calicut, September 19, 2026: Calicut FC unveiled its squad for the upcoming season at a team launch held at Calicut Beach on Friday evening. The event saw the club’s players and staff introduced to supporters in the presence of M. K. Raghavan, MP; Adv. K. Jayanth, Kozhikode North MLA; Dr. S. Jayashree, Deputy Mayor, Kozhikode Corporation; A. P. Shoukatali, Kozhikode City Police Commissioner; Navas Meeran, President, Kerala Football Association; Korath V Mathew, CEO, Calicut FC; VK Mathews, Executive Chairman, IBS Group and Owner, Calicut FC; along with the club management, partners, public representatives and football enthusiasts.
The team began the evening by remembering Bino Jose Eapen, with a special video tribute screened in his memory.
Welcoming the gathering, Korath V Mathew, CEO, Calicut FC, spoke about the team coming together ahead of the new season. “A team launch is always a special occasion for us because this is when the players and staff come together in front of the people who support the club. We have a good group this season, and everyone is looking forward to getting on the field. Calicut has always had a strong connection with football, and we are happy to begin this season with our supporters alongside us,” said Korath V Mathew, CEO, Calicut FC.
VK Mathews, Executive Chairman, IBS Group and Owner, Calicut FC, addressed the gathering and spoke about the club’s journey, its long-term plans for the upcoming season, and its vision of positioning Kerala as the football capital of India.
The event also featured an address of Hon’ble Excise Minister M. Liju via video message. The ‘Say No To Drugs’ Red Card was unveiled by M. K. Raghavan, Adv. K. Jayanth, Dr. S. Jayashree, A. P. Shoukatali, Hannah Mathews Co-owner Calicut FC; Azad Moopan, Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare; legendary former Indian footballer I. M. Vijayan, and Navas Meeran.
The main highlight of the evening was the official introduction of the Calicut FC squad and staff. Shaiju Damodaran introduced the players and staff on stage, with the squad making their first collective appearance before supporters ahead of the new season. The programme also included felicitation of guests and contributors, followed by the screening of the club’s theme song, CFC Returns, and other highlight videos.
With the team now officially introduced, Calicut FC looks ahead to the upcoming season with its players, staff and supporters preparing for the campaign ahead.
