9th July 2025, BENGALURU: Counselect (ISO/IEC 27001:2022), a leading consulting and solutions firm dedicated to transforming legal functions, today announced the acquisition of Lawmetrik, a specialist in legal value optimization and managed services. Counselect is founded by the team that built Vahura, the first-mover firm in specialist legal & governance recruitment in India.
The strategic combination of Counselect’s expertise in talent and consulting with Lawmetrik’s metric-driven solutions positions the merged entity as a market leader in business and value consulting for corporate legal departments. Quantascend acted as deal advisors to Counselect, with legal counsel provided by INDUSLAW. Acumen advised Lawmetrik on the deal, while YNZ Legal and Mahika Parikh served as legal advisors.
As legal and compliance functions increasingly drive business value and resilience, this acquisition is both timely and aligned with evolving market dynamics. Legal work streams are gaining prominence across global enterprises, especially within India-based Global Capability Centres. Since inception, both Counselect and Lawmetrik have played pivotal roles in enabling clients to navigate and capitalize on emerging trends, including in the areas of value capture, risk management, legal tech and AI-readiness.
As part of the integration, Basil Almeida will join Counselect as Co-founder and President. Ritvik Lukose, Co-founder of Counselect, will take the role of CEO. The leadership team will also include Executive Directors Balanand Menon and Rishabh Chopra, along with Vaishali Gopal, Emerald Amara, and Siddharth Narsipur (Lawmetrik). Lawmetrik’s entire team will be fully integrated into Counselect.
